Liberal vs Progressive

There has been questions human beings have been asking for centuries...Hell millenniums. Some important: in which ways will global warming impact the planet and the human life within ones life time or not so important: When is the rapture. There are other questions that stump the minds of even the brightest and most brilliant scientists: Why do we drive in a parkway and park in a driveway? Still one such questions in the arena of the lefties is: Can you tell me the difference between a liberal and progressive? Well lets tackle that issue:

Liberals according to Wikipedia

Liberalism (from the Latin liberalis)[1] is the belief in the importance of liberty and equal rights.[2] Liberals espouse a wide array of views depending on their understanding of these principles, but generally liberals support ideas such as constitutionalism, liberal democracy, free and fair elections, human rights, capitalism, and freedom of religion.[3][4][5][6][7] These ideas are widely accepted, even by political groups that do not openly profess a liberal ideological orientation.
Liberalism first became a powerful force in the Age of Enlightenment, rejecting several foundational assumptions that dominated most earlier theories of government, such as nobility, established religion, absolute monarchy, and the Divine Right of Kings. The early liberal thinker John Locke, who is often credited for the creation of liberalism as a distinct philosophical tradition, employed the concept of natural rights and the social contract to argue that the rule of law should replace absolutism in government, that rulers were subject to the consent of the governed, and that private individuals had a fundamental right to life, liberty, and property.
The revolutionaries in the American Revolution and the French Revolution used liberal philosophy to justify the armed overthrow of tyrannical rule. The nineteenth century saw liberal governments established in nations across Europe, Latin America, and North America. Liberal ideas spread even further in the twentieth century, when liberal democracies triumphed in two world wars and survived major ideological challenges from fascism and communism. Today, liberalism in its many forms remains as a political force to varying degrees of power and influence on all major continents.
A twenty-first century development is an emerging new liberalism that is centred on the concept of timeless freedom (ensuring the freedom of future generations through proactive action taken today).[8] This is an idea that has been endorsed by the President of Liberal International Hans van Baalen.
Progressive according to Wikipedia

Progressivism is an umbrella term for a political ideology advocating or favoring social, political, and economic reform or changes through the state. Progressivism is often viewed by its advocates to be in opposition to conservative or reactionary ideologies.
The Progressive Movement began in the late 19th and early 20th centuries in cities with settlement workers and reformers who were interested in helping those facing harsh conditions at home and at work. The reformers spoke out about the need for laws regulating tenement housing and child labor. They also called for better working conditions for women.
The term progressivism emerged in reference to a more general response to the vast changes brought by industrialization: an alternative to the traditional conservative response to social and economic issues and, despite being associated with left-wing politics, to the various more radical streams of communism or anarchism.
Political parties, such as the Progressive Party, organized at the start of the 20th century, and progressivism was embraced in the administrations of American Presidents Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Lyndon Baines Johnson.[1] Moreover, in the United States and Canada, the term "progressive" has occasionally been used by groups not particularly left-wing. The Progressive Democrats in the Republic of Ireland took the name "progressivism" despite being considered centre-right or classical liberal. The European Progressive Democrats was a mainly heterogeneous political group in the European Union. For most of the period from 1942–2003, the largest conservative party in Canada

So you choose.

Yet there has been an up-rise no an increase of prog/lib shows. A few are on T.V., many are on radio and even more are on the Internet. There is a class or standards in which people attain their daily information. Living in Los Angeles, there are a few shows I listen to and I think I got it down.

Stephanie Miller: Morning show host from the Stephanie Miller Show. Her audience attracts folks from 18-34 years old. Since the Howard Stern Show move to Sirius Satellite, Stephanie is filling that void with politics using humor and fart jokes. Stern also use fart sounds and strange humor, Miller is bringing in the kids who could not make the cross over. So Miller became popular and now, listeners can have a good laugh, while learning something about the politics in the U.S. Prior to Stern's movement, Miller had to work her butt of to attract people over to the "dark" side. Miller is attracting the 18-34 years old with her childish act, promoting fun and frivolity.

Ed Schultz, a conservative-turned-lefty, counters everything a traditional Democratic member counter. He's a hunter. Schultz attracts the blue dog or even the newly converted right to the left, but who loves their firearms. Schultz explain that the lefties can carry firearms or go hunting and fishing, as well as being a responsible steward to the environment. His no-nonsense radio show gives the new listeners pablum to even the oldest teabagger so they could segue to the left a lot easier.

Randi Rhodes is a lefty who supports the Democratic party, a diehard lefty, whose allegiance is powerful. She can pull out any facts and figures and  destroy the right like a tsunami wiping out a village. Randi is loving and caring, but piss her off and she'll pounce on you like a rabid Wolverine. She will go for the jugular and will not shut you down unless you are stupid. She's like the person who would stand up to the school bully, squeeze their nuts or boobs and twist. She makes mincemeat out of people who deserve it and will not give in.

Thom Hartmann. Now here is a scholar on U.S. history. A person so well-versed, that he could challenge any top-rated history professor at any of the Ivy League University and put them in their place. Hartmann has a mind like a steel trap, that he could bring up not only the obvious but the obscure. Example? East India Tea Company and the Boston Tea Party.  Santa Clara County vs. Southern Pacific letterhead and the mistake of calling corporations human being because Citizens United was based upon First National Bank of Boston v. Bellotti which is based upon Santa Clara County case. These facts teaches the graduates of progressive/liberal radio the foundation of history and the implementation of our rights.

Then comes the graduate studies or should I say Ph.D. of progressive/liberal radio:

Mike Malloy. Mike Malloy is a firebrand on radio. His rants are powerful, he screams at the top of his lungs and yells across the airwaves facts as mentioned from above to a more grassroots group of listeners. The age here varies, from the mid 30s to retiree age. Many of the listeners here are disenfranchised and are disgusted by their own party. They have no allegiance to one party, and are willing to support anyone who echoes their knowledge and experience in a rational way. many of these folks are atheists. There are Agnostic and the ones who believe, know how to read the Bible and apply Matthew 25:40. There is no racism, sexism, classicism, and everyone in this group tend to huddle up and create this family.

Other hosts include but are not limited to: Bob Kincaid, Sam Seder, Nicole Sandler, Cary Harrison, Brad Friedman.

These talkers are willing or have placed their lives in the line of the 1% and are sharing their experience. These are the instructors or commanding officers who will go to the front of the line and stand next to you to fight the right.

Liberal or progressives, both ideas , though different, can be a vital asset to the commons.

Sounds more mental illness than possession. When you think possession, I think of Little Regan stabbing her vagina with a crucifix or projectile vomiting pea soup. But what do I know? I'm an atheist
